This is the second post in our Celebrity Looks For Less series, which is getting off to a bad start.
Sometimes, in the quest to be daring and different, celebrities tend to mess up. Katy Perry has always been bold, and although her fashion choices are usually up for debate, once in a while there comes along a dress that is so, so bad that it can universally be declared a complete fashion fail.

What IS that monstrosity? It looks like some sort of mutant flat snake without a head has wrapped itself around Katy Perry and she’s too busy on the red carpet to realize it. (Is it even supposed to resemble a snake? That’s what it looks like to me!)
The dress goes frilly at the bottom and gives an uneven, lopsided look to the outfit. Maybe if the frills weren’t so, er, frilly, and this dress was shaped more like a cocktail dress- sleek- she could have pulled off the weird getting-squeezed-by-a-snake look, but alas, sometimes even Katy Perry goes too far with her outfits.
Well, we’ve got two outfits that take the frill factor and make it work. The outfit on the left with the pink waist is classy and chic, and perhaps more suited to a bridesmaid at a wedding, but hey, we’re trying to pull off a Katy Perry look here! Out-of-place works for Katy Perry most of the time, so why not for you?
The dress on the right is definitely unique. It’s cute and playful as well. The flower on the waist only adds to the look, as well as the black borders, which take the outfit from otherwise ordinary to kind of sassy. We like it!
It’s always a win-win situation when you take something bad and turn it into something good. Why not do the same with this outfit? You can dress like Katy Perry AND better than her, too, in this instance- and that’s something to talk about.
